Exploratory diving is the foundation, not the exception.

We are your guide into the unknown in the heart of the Coral Triangle. Scuba Diving with Uncharted Cruises on our private charter diving expeditions begins where the usual routes begin to thin. The aim is not simply to repeat the best-known sites, but to move through Indonesia’s underwater world with more freedom, more range, and more room for surprise.

That may mean drifting through current-shaped reefs, descending onto quieter sites far from the main circuit, or building an entire private charter around the places that feel most alive to the group on board. And wherever the route allows, every diving journey holds space for exploration — reefs, pinnacles, and walls that remain lightly known, or not yet marked on the map at all.

The common thread is simple: the diving is shaped by the journey, not squeezed into it.

UNCHARTED DIVING

UNCHARTED DIVING

01
TA’TALASA - A Steady Base Between Descents

Ta’Talasa is shaped around the rhythm of diving. There is space to prepare, space to return, and space to let the day unfold without friction — the kind of quiet functionality that matters when diving is at the heart of the expedition.

On board, that means a dedicated dive deck, strong safety systems, local knowledge, quality rental gear, Nitrox, camera support, and the option to continue training through PADI courses or more advanced diving arrangements when planned in advance. More than a boat, Ta’Talasa becomes the base that makes the underwater side of the journey possible.

02
EXPERT LOCAL GUIDES

Diving with expert local guides changes the experience completely. It means seeing more, understanding more, and moving through each site with a deeper sense of what the water is doing and what the reef is holding. From tiny hidden critters to larger passing life, their knowledge brings another layer to every descent.

That same local understanding extends beyond the dive itself. It connects the underwater world to the islands, communities, and traditions that shape each region, making the journey feel more grounded and complete.

03
RENTAL GEAR

Travelling light should not mean compromising underwater. For guests who prefer not to bring their own full kit, Ta’Talasa carries a range of high-quality rental equipment from trusted brands including Apeks® and xDeep®.

Equipment is available in a variety of sizes, maintained carefully, and checked regularly so it is ready for the kind of diving the journey asks for. It is one less thing to worry about — and one more reason to keep your attention where it belongs: below the surface.

04
GOURMET DIVING - Enriched Air NITROX

We call it Gourmet Diving for a reason. On routes shaped around diving day after day, Nitrox can make the experience feel more spacious — supporting longer bottom times and helping reduce the sense of fatigue that can build across multiple dives.

Ta’Talasa is equipped with a Renner® low-pressure membrane Enriched Air Nitrox system, and guests who are not yet certified also have the option to complete the PADI Nitrox course on board for an additional fee.

PHOTOGRAPHY

For photographers, the difference is often in the details. Ta’Talasa offers dedicated space for camera setup, maintenance, charging, and post-dive workflow, making it easier to move through the day with equipment that needs care as much as attention.

The boat is shaped by that understanding. Uncharted’s founders are photographers themselves, and the crew know how much timing, positioning, and small adjustments can matter when looking for the right image — whether the subject is tiny macro life or a reefscape opening into blue water.

06
COURSES

For some guests, the journey below the surface is also a chance to keep progressing. Ta’Talasa offers the possibility to complete PADI courses on board, adding structure and skill development to a route already shaped by real-world diving conditions.

From Advanced Open Water to specialties such as deep diving, fish ID, underwater photography, and wreck diving, training can become a natural extension of the expedition rather than something separate from it. With experienced instructors on board, learning remains grounded, practical, and closely tied to the waters you are actually diving.

07
SAFETY & EXPEDITION READINESS

Safety underpins every expedition aboard Ta’Talasa, especially in remote and less-travelled waters. Our approach combines careful planning, experienced crew, and clear operational procedures so that each dive is conducted with calm, confidence, and full awareness of the conditions at hand.

This is what allows the journey to remain focused on exploration. Every dive is supported above and below the surface, with the systems, judgment, and preparation needed to move well in places where the margin for improvisation is small.

YOUR DIVE EXPEDITION

A good dive expedition feels effortless for you because so much is being held quietly in place around it.

On Ta’Talasa, that means careful planning, clear communication, and the kind of preparedness that allows remote diving to unfold with confidence rather than friction.

The result is not just safety, but ease — the feeling that the diving is fully supported, wherever the route leads.

Navigation & Communication Systems
Strong navigation and dependable communication sit behind every dive day, helping the crew move clearly and respond well in changing conditions.

Oxygen, First Aid & Emergency Support
Emergency oxygen, first aid, and core life-saving equipment are carried as part of the boat’s operational readiness at all times.

Condition-Led Briefings
Briefings are tailored to local conditions, so each dive begins with a clear understanding of the site, the entry, and the water you are about to enter.

SMBs & Diver Recall Procedures
Surface marker buoys and diver recall systems help keep the underwater side of the journey organised, visible, and well connected to surface support.

A Crew That Pays Attention
Experienced crew remain attentive both in and out of the water, supporting each dive with the kind of calm awareness remote diving calls for.
